Michelle Widner joins ONMA as administrative assistant

Michelle WidnerMichelle Widner has joined the Ohio New Media Association as our new part-time administrative assistant following the retirement of Ann Riggs. Widner’s duties include routing all ONMA and AdOhio telephone calls, maintaining all mailing lists and databases, incoming mail, organizing all member mailings, handling correspondence for the executive director, and much more.

Widner, who goes by Mike, the loving nickname of a lifetime, has spent her working life in public and non-profit agencies.  From women’s entrepreneurship to Ohio wines to adult education, she has lead successful teams for a very long time.  Most of her life has been spent in Columbus, but Chicago is almost home too.

Widner is the mother of four grown children, grandmother to eleven and owner of two marvelous terriers. She said she has been blessed in life and trusts in hard work and optimism.  She can knit socks, make a soufflé, and order a beer in four languages.

Widner said that she is extremely pleased to be working for ONMA and AdOhio because of aligned values and terrific co-workers. She added that she also hopes to be able to contribute to continuing growth and accomplishment. “News in paper or digital form is critical to understanding a frenetic world and participating in the evolution is very exciting,” Widner said.
