The Basics: Understanding & Covering Ohio Local Government

  • What: Larry Long, the retired director of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio and an instructor in the Glenn School at Ohio State University, will offer a primer on how government works (or doesn’t at times) in Ohio. He’ll also offer fresh ideas for stories and coverage.

The ONMA and the Ohio Association of Broadcasters will host the free webinar "The Basics: Understanding & Covering Ohio Local Government" on Wednesday, March 6 at 10 am. The lives of all Ohio citizens are affected by one of America’s most complex, confusing and expensive systems of local and regional government — this webinar will help any editor or reporter involved with Ohio governmental coverage do a better job.

The webinar will be led by Larry Long, the retired director of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio and an instructor in the Glenn School at Ohio State University. Along with offering a primer on how government works (or doesn’t at times) in Ohio, he’ll also offer fresh ideas for stories and coverage.

While the webinar is free to ONMA and OAB members, registration is required.
